Great Bedwyn School has been awarded the Green Flag for Eco-Schools for the second time.  Well done to the School Council.

Great Bedwyn School is a village school that values standards and achievement

Great Bedwyn is a village primary school, near Marlborough, set at the heart of a rural community. We currently have 212 children on role from 4-11 years old. The school building is modern with spacious grounds and is well resourced and maintained.

Our current OFSTED report classified us as an 'Outstanding School' in all areas with the academic attainment and achievement of the children being consistently high. We have recently gained the status of a National Support School. We have also been awarded the Basic Skills Quality Mark, Gold Artsmark and Eco-Schools Green Flag Award.

We have a lively and exciting skills based curriculum which is taught using a termly topic based approach. The freedom of our creative curriculum allows us to diversify into subject themed weeks which celebrate, for example, the arts, cultural diversity and design technology.

The school has worked hard to achieve a variety of prestigious awards which reflect the strengths of the topic based approach.

Varied arts opportunities including dance, drama, singing, specialist artists and continued high level curricular teaching and learning, have enabled us to maintain the Gold Artsmark for the last 4 years.

Our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, providing an assortment of sporting opportunities and focus on developing 'well-rounded' and happy individuals has contributed to us achieving the Active Mark and Healthy Schools Award and becoming a lead SEAL school.
